Empordàlia is an association of small producers from the Empordà who have been working the Empordà land for generations. Our commitment is quite simply to combine tradition and quality in every bottle. To do this, our intention is for each vintage to conserve the defining features of the Empordà.

We are a big family, and we work the vineyards and olive groves just as our grandparents and great-grandparents taught us to do, with respect for the land, true to our values, and carrying forward our tradition, for the benefit of future generations.

Empordàlia is made up of three cooperatives in the Empordà region – those of Pau, Roses and Vilajuïga.

Our story began in 1947 with the founding of the cooperative in Vilajuïga. The cooperative of Pau was created later, in 1961, and merged with that of Roses. The three cooperatives were created with the same purpose in mind: to work together and produce a quality product that reflects the character of our region. United by this common purpose, in 2015, we decided to join together and create what is now known as Empordàlia, a name that represents us all. Empordàlia is the fruition of many years of hard toil, teamwork and a desire to perpetuate a tradition.

The expansion of the Peace Oil Mill we opened the doors to many oil producers municipalities of Lower Emporda. Thanks to the efforts of all we have achieved over the years, improve quality and increase production to achieve Peace Oil certifies us as one of the highest quality oils.

- Jaume Lopez - Canapost, cooperative del Baix Empordà -

I was born and raised among vineyards and seen to work them great-grandparents and my parents. Now it's up to me and like them, I still rooted in the territory trying to develop a quality product taking advantage of the uniqueness of the place we live.We joined up with Empordàlia because we realized at the time that it was a forward-looking business. It was a guarantee that we would maintain our way of working and producing our products, ensuring continuity with optimized processes to provide the very best quality.

Doing things well is our hallmark. This is how we at Empordàlia work every day, to offer our customers quality products, which set us apart from other producers. We receive the grapes and olives from our partner in the best conditions and we produce the wine and olive oil with our characteristic passion and skill.

- David Blanch- Pau, Manager, Molí d’Oli -

The family has been tied to olive oïl production for many generations. It is great to see that, after so many years, the tradition continues, producing olive oïl with the greatest of care and the very latest equipment.

Empordàlia is located in a tiny region at the north-eastern tip of Catalonia, sheltered to the north by the Pyrenees. To the east, it is bordered by the foothills of the Verdera range, the Bay of Roses and the Mediterranean; to the south, the plain stretching to the Empordà Marshes, and to the west, the cliffs of the Garrotxa, our neighbouring district.

These four cardinal points contain three nature parks: the National Interest Nature Area of the Albera Massif, the Maritime-Terrestrial Cap de Creus Natural Park and the marshes of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park. This special location obliges us to be rigorous in our respect for the environment and guarantees its sustainability.
